Office

Today, I spent some time with my two co-workers as we attended a class on Office 2007.  It was at the District Office, and the class was taught by UEN.  We were scrunched in with 24 people in a very small room.  I was willing to give up my computer, so they could teach me everything they learned (I sat by the talented Shirley Cook - she teaches CTE at AYI).  I looked over her shoulder as she worked her magic.  I sat next to Julie (Ms. Snow), it will be such a wonderful year.  She and Don (Mr. Vincent) already have a team mentality, I am glad I can join up and be a part of their success.  The best part about the class other than learning some new things, was being with the family of educators.  Ironic that I was learning Office 2007 in 2008 in an office.

Fisher's Third

Welcome to
Mr. Fisher's Third Grade Blog

I am looking forward to a wonderful year with my third grade students at Century Elementary School.  I have been anxiously awaiting my chance to be in a regular classroom as a regular teacher, it will be exhilarating.  My goals as a third grade teacher are to encourage my students to do their best, to challenge them to do even better, and to help each student reach for the stars and follow their dreams.  That said there will be an underlying tone for each student to be intellectually stimulated, intrinsically motived, and challenged like never before.  My job as the teacher will be to focus your attention on the above goals, and make sure you are ready for fourth grade and beyond, but more importantly I want you to enjoy your third grade year.  It will be exciting, hard sometimes, different, challenging, and fun but it will all be rewarding.
